Privacy

Fathom is a free flashcard site run by a student. It has no ads and no trackers, and nothing about you is sold.

What Fathom stores

• Your account: your name and email, plus a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
• What you make: your sets, cards, folders and starred cards.
• How you study: which cards you've mastered, when each card is due for review, and your scores and Match times.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. Two more remember the theme you picked. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

Signing in with Google

Google tells Fathom your name, email address and a Google account ID. Fathom can't see your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.

Sharing

When you create a share link for a set, anyone with the link can see that set's title, description and cards, and your first name. Turning the link off stops it working right away. Your study progress is never shared.

Card images

Images on cards are links to other websites. When a card with an image appears, your browser loads the image from that site.

Services Fathom uses

• Railway runs the site and its database.
• Resend sends password-reset emails.
• Google handles “Continue with Google” if you use it.

These services see only what they need to do their job. Like any web host, Railway keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses.

Deleting your data

On the Account page, “Delete my account” permanently removes your account, sets, progress and share links at once. You can export any set first, from the set's page.

Age

Fathom is for people 13 and older.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date above changes too, and big changes will be announced on the site.
